Press release
Lockey Studio is part of On & Off Fred 2026, the Bihl Haus Arts studio-tour weekend along Fredericksburg Road, and this stop carries a clear family line through two different visual languages.
Jerry Lockey shows as Locosan, with hand-built ceramics, glaze-driven texture, vessels, birds, and patio creatures arranged through the working studio. His son Shamus Lockey shows as Texas Mess, bringing recycled contemporary work with a distinct, skate-shaped sensibility. Together, the patio garden feels like a Beacon Hill invitation: tiled brick, columns, flowers, a lily pond, and a lionhead water fountain turning the stop into a neighborhood art walk as much as a studio visit.
Public hours: Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, March 22, 2026 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at 931 W Woodlawn Ave, San Antonio, TX 78201.
Event note
Lockey Studio opens for the Saturday run of On & Off Fred 2026 with work by Locosan and Texas Mess.
This is a father-and-son show with two different styles moving through one Beacon Hill patio-garden stop. Jerry Lockey's Locosan ceramics bring hand-built vessels, sculptural creatures, and richly glazed forms into the patio and studio, while Texas Mess, the recycled contemporary practice of his son Shamus Lockey, adds a younger, modern edge. The result is part open studio, part neighborhood art walk, with tiled brick, columns, flowers, a lily pond, and a lionhead fountain framing the work.
